Caverta contains Sildenafil Citrate as its active ingredient, which is a medication that enhances blood circulation to the penis and treats erectile dysfunction. It helps restore impaired erectile function and creates a natural response to sexual arousal. The process of achieving an erection involves the release of nitric oxide (NO) in the cavernous body during sexual excitement. This nitric oxide works to activate the enzyme guanylate cyclase, leading to increased levels of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP). This process results in the relaxation of smooth muscles in the cavernous body and enhances blood flow to the penis. Sildenafil is a potent and selective inhibitor of cGMP-specific phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE-5), an enzyme responsible for breaking down cGMP in the smooth muscles of the penis.
Caverta is indicated for men over 18 years of age experiencing erectile dysfunction, which is characterized by the inability to achieve or maintain an erection adequate for sexual intercourse.
Once absorbed into the body, Caverta blocks the action of the phosphodiesterase 5 enzyme, which reduces blood flow and can lead to impotence. By inhibiting phosphodiesterase 5, Caverta increases the level of cGMP, thereby enhancing blood circulation, particularly in the affected penile areas.
Simultaneously, Caverta stimulates the release of the muscle relaxant nitric oxide, which eases the penile muscles, allowing blood to flow into the penile region and resulting in an erection.
The rigidity achieved is sufficient to support a prolonged sexual encounter, providing satisfaction for both the male and female partners engaged in the intimate activity.
Caverta is available in tablet form for oral administration. The recommended doses are either 50mg or 100mg, depending on the desired therapeutic effect. For elderly patients with renal or hepatic impairment, the maximum dose should not exceed 25mg. It is advised to take the medication 30-60 minutes prior to sexual intercourse. It is important to note that Sildenafil citrate will not be effective without sexual stimulation.
